This. Hughes can't wait for Johnson to get fit anymore. He has to treat the situation as if Johnson won't ever play for the club again at this stage. Hopefully he will of course, but Hughes needs to act as if he won't and anything else is a bonus.

Hughes wants 2 players per position, so while a fit Johnno may not get first pick, he'd be there as back up to Barry or Ireland.
