Would anyone else think this would be a great buy?
Could get him for £5-10m which is a bargain for someone like him.
Guaranteed goals and would fit the bill for Hughes' immediate impact as he seems to be looking at Premiership players who will fit right in.

Only concern is Owen playing in a 4-5-1 formation but I think he can do it and would link up well with Robinho. Still lives in the North West too...

ahh fukit we can have both.:P. there both better than jo and benj!!

not like money is tight lol

I don't get why Hughes is going for Bellamy rather than Owen. Owen has more quality than Bellamy does and they're both injury prone and you could pick Owen up for cheaper than what West Sham are asking for Bellend.

Alot better than what we have. He is a proven goal scorer and for a certain price is definately worth it. We have the dough, the need, so we should do it. Though I think we can do much better he is definately not a bad start. Keep Caicedo and Sturridge, 2 very potential strikers good backups and will be well needed to keep our numbers up and strengthen the squad throughout the entire season. I seriously hope we get Villa, would love Klose here, or even Schweinsteiger, Podolski!

Bellamy has pace to burn and can play on the left, that's probably the reasoning, just hope that particular transfer doesn't come off like virtually everyone else on here the guys a trouble maker.

I would be very very happy and jumping for joy if we signed Owen.

Top class player!!

Owen would be a good signing and if we're going to go for premier league experienced players then I'd much rather go for someone like him who could make a contribution longer term to a run at the top 4.

I don't get why we're not going for him either. I'm not sure there is a more proven Premier League goalscorer available right now, regardless of the fact we'd pick him up for peanuts (in relative terms). He's certainly more proven than RSC. I wouldn't be too sad to see them both come in to be honest, but given the choice I'm plump for Owen.
