Michael Shields

To be honest, and from what I've read of the case, I think he's almost certainly guilty. But because he was convicted in a Bulgarian court, a lot of people seem to think he was the victim of a poxy justice system and our system is superior to theirs. That's a view which comes across as a bit arrogant to me.

Read this and then tell me if you think he's 100% innocent.

So the written confession from the other bloke, who I might point out looks alot like him, is to be ignored?

You're talking about Graham Sankey, right? Personally I think he only did that to get Shields off because when he was asked to go over to Bulgaria and confess, he shat it and didn't go. It was as though he thought Shields would be set free but he wouldn't have to stand trial himself. IIRC he was staying in the same hotel as Shields at the time of the attack - Shields denied knowing him even though he was only a couple of rooms away. All very suspect if you ask me.

He does appear to be falsely imprisoned, short of actually being there none of us will every know for sure.

About 20 eyewitnesses think otherwise

That may be so but he is reported as saying:

"Arr ey, I'm, like, innocent laaa."

He would protest his innocence wouldn't he. Some of the ridiculous stories his mates came out with in his defence sounded like blatant lies and IMO he seems like exactly the kind of scouse cnut that would drive a paving slab through an innocent fathers skull - but regardless of my opinion all the local witness' positively identified Michael Shields as being the one who used the slab.

In any event LFC were a bit too eager to help someone who could very well be guilty, all this free Michael Shields, justice campaign, scouse pity bullshit just detracts from the fact that they disgraced the nation in Europe yet again, and in my opinion the Shields sympathy emanating from the British media and LFC is a further disgrace.

It is when his story doesn't match anyone elses, and he's not prepared to stand up in court.

Completely agree.

Now they are going crazy at Jack Straw for not granting the pardon, when the only way he can do that is by feeling satisfied that Shields is completely innocent. And how many hand on heart can say that?

All these people stayed in Shield's room and saw him asleep, although no of them knew him....
