I've been working with this for the past week or 2 never had any training on it. I've been saving my work every now and then but since the last time I've saved it it won't let me do anything.

All the option buttons at the top are shaded out
Won't let me type in the boxes
Won't let me open a new page
Won't let me copy or cut and paste

I've tried just starting all over again but the exact same on a brand new page. I have the disc and all that so the programme is legit

It's Microsoft office 2007

Any help cheers

Think you have switched 'protection' on mate. Google it, can't remember how you switch it off.

I think i can help.

First you have to uninstalling it and fully remove it.

Try downloading and running Windows Cleanup Utility

Open it and look for Office 2007 - just be careful.

Once fully removed, reboot - try installing Office 07 again.

There is also a way to delete some ( i think Cab11&Cab12) Files from the hidden Application Folder, but i do not remember really good. Thease two Files when deleted removes and Settings for Office 2007 Tools and restore themselfs when you run Excel again with fresh Settings. If you want you can try to find them in C:/Users/Your Name/Application/Office (You have to make this Folder visiable by clicking on "Orgnazise or Folder Options" and in "Advanced" search for "Show hidden Files"" and ckeck it.)

That could help also, so if you want try it. Or reinstall. If even the fresh Installation doesnt help, then you didnt Activate it and you used to long the Trail period. So click on the Office Logo and search for Activate.

If need to work quickly install Open Office, its Free. Go to google and type "Open Office download" or use some cloud services, then type "Open Excel Files Online" or "How to edit Excel files online".

Good luck.

It does sound like you have protected the sheet so hope you remember the password. lol. Or has somebody else put a password in it?

Its on one of the tabs somewhere on the top of your worksheet, more towards the right hand-side if I remember rightly. It's easy to find.

Not sure that its locked up mate, normally you get an alert once clicking on a locked cell.
Try this though to be sure
click 'home'
click 'format' in the cells box
at the bottom there will be 'protection'
click 'protect sheet'
in the box that appears, make sure protect worksheet is unticked (top left).
Good luck.
