Middle East Conflict | Ceasefire deal agreed

Call me pedantic but how is that much different to a call for peace (that millions of people, including me, want)? Presumably you want BOTH sides to stop killing each other and each others children? and implicit in the word 'peace' is that you do not break each others agreed borders?
Are you for real?

and yet another war crime - when does the world just say "ok Israel has bother with the states that surround it. They have committed war crime after war crime - they are the nuclear power in the are lets just step back and let them get on with it - what will be will be" ? Because you see what Jewish people - won''t go Israel or Zionists - depend on is the awful Holocaust visited upon them by the Nazi's - and others - in the 30's and 40's
What we all need to ask ourselves is are we prepared to enter an nuclear war in support of a genocidal regime because that could soon be the case

I’m fully aware that Judaism is not Zionism and I have the utmost respect for Jewish people who speak the truth.

I’m not religious despite my upbringing but good enough for you if you are.

I have so much respect for the likes of Ilan Pappe and this guy who just tell things as they are.
Israel was a bad idea from the start. Doomed to failure.

I'm not sure it was doomed to failure.

Further thoughts

Maybe some really thought they could colonise the land and displace people without resistance. Maybe once they realised this was unlikely they could have found some fair way to compensate the dispossessed. Maybe they should have realised that a Jewish state in what had been a Muslim empire for centuries might need more than an iron wall (Jabotinsky) or an iron dome to live in peace (where so many citizens are army reservists). Maybe they should have stuck to the internationally-allotted 1948 borders.

Maybe the foreign powers who fixed those borders should have known better.

Maybe the concept of inviting all Diaspora Jews back to a land they'd not held for two millennia would help them understand why Palestinians might not just disperse to other lands after a few decades.

Maybe if "never again" had been not just about for one people but a model for all peoples.

Maybe it doesn't feel like failure.
