Middle East Conflict

Russia invaded Ukraine on a false premise without provacation or justification.

Isreal entered Gaza because a terrorist network based there attacked and kidknapped civilians and took them back to Gaza.

I don't agree with blanket bombing and having no care for innocent people, but there is a big difference between the two.

Fair enough.

I will have to look up in IHL the section where war crimes aren't war crimes if you think you have been hard done by.

Another one with 'City started in 2008 syndrome'.

Some weren't directing their anger at the Israeli state but Jewish people in general.

One lady had the Star of David with the Nazi insignia. Two wore Hamas headbands.

A minority of the marchers but we can't ignore them.

Edit: if you're on twitter the Metropolitan Police have a substantial thread asking for information on hate crimes from the march.

Ah so that’s how the insignia being perceived.

Earlier I actually thought if the Raelianism symbol is not allowed. Raelian symbol is accepted beyond the Raelian religion, notably in the past the symbol is to promote LGBT. And the Raelianism is itself headquartered in Jerusalem.

On the Hamas headbands, those are not Hamas motifs. Hamas motifs says Ketaeb Al Qassam. The motif worn on the protest is more of Saudi Arabia flag, or in general, an Arabic phrase for muslims.

You're reading into things that I haven't said. It's why it's almost impossible to have a discussion on this subject.

Eh?

I'm not taking any side and you shouldn't either.

I was replying that the two conflicts are not the same.
You were implying that both conflicts started in a vacuum. Hence my no history comment.

You also say Israel has the right to break international law because of the Hamas attack.
By that logic Hamas had the right to commit war crimes due to what Israel does to Palestinians on a daily basis.

Sorry if I misunderstood, not looking for an argument, but you did say "Probably because they're not comparable with different historical, as well as recent, context" when the different approach to war crimes between Russia and Israel were being considered.

Wasn't trying to be snarky (in fact, I withdraw my snarkiness with apologies), but I don't see any difference, irrespective of context. A war crime is a war crime.
