Middle East Conflict

In the next day of two Isreal will be in a two pronged attack as hezzbollah will enter this war . They are starting to escalate it in Lebanon .
Would the USA then intervene? Biden said the other day, ‘and to anyone else thinking of getting involved, I have one word for you… DON’T!’

Truly awful scenes and stories from both sides of the conflict onnthe news. Hamas commit horrific attrocities and incite justified Isreali revenge.

However despite backing Israels right to hunt down and 100% destroy Hamas. I find the scenes from the Gaza strip after bombing of civilians and the lock down on the entire population horrific.

If I lived in Gaza as a normal person and came home to find my wife and family killed by an indiscriminate Isreali air strike I would be picking up a gun a trying to kill as many of the IDF personnel as I could. This violence perpetrates more violence. What a total nightmare.

I believe a lot more IDF than usual were deployed in the West Bank, and that along with reservists protesting against Netanyahu’s government left them undermanned down south. Netanyahu had prioritised supporting settlers above protecting normal Israelis. Once this is over he should be prosecuted for dereliction of duty along with his other crimes.
Bibi prioritised preventing himself from going to prison above all else. I don't think he really wants to expand settlements but did it to appease the far ultra orthodox right who he needs onside to change legislation to protect himself. He was warned months ago of this attack, I don't think he would deliberately allow it to happen, just that he was so fixated on keeping himself out of jail that politics took priority over safety, probably some arrogance over tha damage that could be done as well.

“Every member of Hamas is a dead man” Netanyahu.
There will be many innocent civilians hoovered up and killed in the round up.
I wonder if they’re sending Sayeret Matkal to Qatar to take out the top brass? Middle of the night raids, two the head, two to the chest, a quick in-and-out job.

That’s where half the Hamas cowards are hiding while the people they’re claiming to be looking out for get blown to bits.

The news was horrendous tonight. Clive Myrie was very close to tears'

Agree it is truly awful, now I have no expertise whatsoever in middle East politics and specifically the Israeli/Palestinian conflict other than whats shown in the media and a little of my own reading.

What I can't get my head around is how in the pursuit of Hamas the Israelis have effectively blockaded Gaza (collective punishment I believe) with little if any criticism.

Is this not like us blockading the whole of Northern Ireland (which has a smaller population than the Gaza strip) in pursuit of the IRA and bombing the shit out of Belfast.

It makes you wonder whether there is any point at which the west tries to rein in Israel as a term for any support. From what I can gather they have the ok from Biden to smash up who they want. Seem to be immune to condemnation. Hate all killing but find Bidens goody and baddy stuff rather ridiculous. Nothing against Jewish people in general have played in teams with hilarious ones and lovely family people but not keen on the killing stuff. As I've got older and found any good health is a bonus to enjoy I just find it tragic the number of young lives being lost around the place needlessly.

The Gaza Strip BBC reporters report at the end was worse.

Why can't people just live together with out killing each other. No one wants this utter misery surely.
I was working today in North Leeds that has a big Jewish community. Loads of kids of multiple ethnicities were heading home from school and there was no aggro. Everyone just getting on. If people aren't taught hatred they get on. Unfortunately, the hatred in the Middle East will last a lot longer.

I agree, it's always the ring leaders that stir up this hatred. The level in parts of the Middle East is off the scale.

The Israeli volunteers recovering bodies are remarkable.

Inevitably Gaza health services and clinicians are being overwhelmed. Did anyone really believe the rubbish about precision air strikes.
I've just said that to the Mrs, how can they bomb such a highly inhabited area unless they are classing all Palestinians as Hamas members. If the Israelis were to conduct such precision strikes and then present the evidence as to why such a strike was made, then fair enough it would be hard to argue with. Has a feeling of ethnic cleansing while the world watches on.

When the personal insults start flying you can be sure you've hit a nerve.
Of course it was the Jews.
History tells us that.
The fact that the Jews were pogrommed by the Russians and then the Germans wasn't anything to do with the Palestinians, these were genocides the European Jews experienced at the hands of other Europeans in Europe. Did the Russians and Germans sacrifice land for a Jewish homeland for the atrocities they committed?
It was Palestinians who just happened to be occupied by another European colonial power who thought a whole nation would be ok with giving away their country.
You might be ok with that, you being the beneficiaries, but the Palestinians and whole chunks of the world never will be.
It had been the Ottoman Empire’s land for four hundred years, until their defeat in the Great War.

In four thousand years of history it was only ever Palestine (yet not an official state) under British rule for 28 years, before Israel was created. Jews had continuously lived in the region under Ottoman rule as well as Palestinians, and despite a large diaspora across Europe and North Africa Jews have lived in the Levant continuously for thousands of years themselves.

The Ottomans treated Arabs worse than they did Jews, despite them following the same religion as the Arabs and a religion founded by Arabs, the Ottomans subjected Arabs to four centuries of oppression. Palestinians never had established settlements within the region under Ottoman rule and had no legal status as citizens; whereas Jews did across the Ottoman Empire, and especially did in what is now Israel.

There was no official state of ‘Palestine’ ever in the history of the region before 1988.

Here’s what this region has been throughout recorded history:

At barely any point in the region’s history has that area been a land of Arabians.

Two schools on North London are closing until next week and all Jewish schools including primary ones have had security guards on their gates for at least 20 years if not longer. And they aren’t there to keep out peadophiles. Video today of two Muslim girls tearing down missing people posters. Why? Because they were posters of missing Jews. Why are Jews reviled so much by so many and why are Jews in the UK and around the world being subjected to violence and abuse. They aren’t responsible for what has been and is currently going on.

Cheetham Hill, Prestwich, all North Manchester really have no issues with multiple faiths and ethnicities mixing together. Shame the rest of the world can’t all get along the same.

Sad as fuck really, we all just want the same things at the end of the day, and to live peaceful lives.
