Middlesbrough v City 9 April - Scorpion kick (P4)

'Scorpion kicks' are very eye catching and there are only certain players that could contort themselves into that position quickly enough to make contact. But the degree of luck that they require is so high that I don't find them anywhere near as impressive as other types of skillful, more deliberate and placed goals. That includes Haalands bicycle kick yesterday which was far more deliberate and wasn't, in any way, chancing it might go vaguely towards the goal. He knew exactly what he was doing and precisely where it was going to go and how he was going to connect.

Don't start me on 'ribonas' either - an admission that you can't use your weaker foot.

I genuinely wouldn't tire of punching that cockney ****!

I do not believe what I read there ,
For an U18 to have the nano second speed between the ears athleticism and Fleet of foot to score a goal like that in the 95th min ?
Credit where credit is Due !!
You need to give you head a wobble if you cannot appreciate to the highest degree that lads effort !!

Yeah.. and penalties which are placed should be simple too..!!! And we have missed a few of those of late.

HAHA!! I've just realised, I've somehow sent that message to the wrong thread(how the ****s that happened I don't know) I can't remember even looking at this thread so apologies. It was meant for that Cockney knobhead who said Haaland was shite at start of season and he'd do well to score 10 goals etc. I'm blaming beer. :)

What I'm saying is, there's loads of athleticism involved, which is impressive, but in terms of footballing ability, it is the equivalent of swinging your weaker foot at a ball and hoping it goes towards the general direction of the goal.

Like when Danny Mills scored that screamer against Everton. A great goal but a huge element of luck in that he just smashed it toward the general direction of the goal and didn't have a clue whether it was going to go straight at the keeper, towards the bottom right corner or the top left.

Whereas Haaland's goal yesterday was an absolutely intentional act, also of the highest athleticism, but with the clear intention to place it exactly where it went.

Both great athleticism though.
