Exactly my thoughts. Peter Walton was the only one I feared might get the job. Whoever we got would most likely be incompetent but Walton would have been an unmitigated disaster.

Can't fuckjng believe that appointment. Am assuming the interview questions were along the lines of "how far up Fergies arse can you go?".
"If a rag falls over in the penalty area with no defender near him what would you instruct the ref to do?"
A) give a penalty
B) give a stern finger wagging to the rag and then award s pen
C) give a pen, send the nearest defender off and book the opposing manager
