Milner total stats for this season including all competitions (and sub appearances) are:

49 starts,6 sub appearances = 12 goals and 15 assists

Whereas Stevie for last season including all competitions and sub appearances had:

52 starts, 2 sub appearances = 17 goals and 13 assists

I think that it is an absolute disgrace that Stevie didn't have his excellent form recognised with the PFA award last year yet Milner with similar stats this year has....

I really believe that Ireland will bounce back next season and may even have a vital role to play from now untill the season end. I can really see him chipping in with a crucial goal at some point this season, I hope so, I really do.

Hope we see the return of Superman next season and not this Clark Kent we've had so far this season.

Correct young man.

Ireland was easily the best young player last year, yet it went to young, who was a close second in my book (I may be a bit biased).

What makes it worse is that Young had such a bloody average season as well last year as he normally does (no more than a kick and run merchant with a half decent cross on him IMHO)

Yong made 48 app, 8 goals and 10 assists. Bit shit compared to stevie.

The take home mesasge anyway is that class is permanent and form is temporary, Ireland's heart attack scare totally shook him up and rightly so. We'll see the real Ireland again soon, I know that for sure.

Bloody hell... did Stevie really get 17 goals last season! Didn't realise it was that many.

What the hell has happened to Stevie? I think that perhaps he has been what we have been missing for large parts of teh season.

Milner has been consistently brilliant for years, he's just getting more goals now so it's recognised better.

It seems to me the young player of the year is always going to go to a young English footballer more than anyone else. With Rooney getting the main 1 then the young player of the year should of went to Fabregas he when he has played has carried the Arsenal team all season and it baffles me the decision to award Milner before Fabregas.
