Can't remember which article this was for but it was definitely one pertaining to transfer talk and players possibly coming to City. As per usual the comments section was full of twats spitting on us with their "mercenary" and "money" talk and one City fan posted this:

"I'm not sure how an outsider can possibly comment on the reason any player joins a club. The players city have signed have shown 100% commitment in games and in training (I was lucky enough to watch a session), we wouldn't have won the FA Cup or be top of the league otherwise. If I was a player with no preference to either Manchester sides, I'd join city for the massive project that's only just begun, the inevitable silverware (which comes with hard graft) and the fact we're a fresh up and coming club that has endless potential. The fact a big wage packet comes with that, would be a pleasant bonus. I think you'd be surprised at how similar the two Manchester clubs wage lists are. I saved it to a text file on my PC and just came across it, going to delete it but I thought I'll let it live forever by archiving it in the Blue Moon forum. It's a nice little succinctly written reply that shut everyone up.

Could even be someone from this forum, I'll be paraphrasing it from now on ;)

I think Mancini will sign players who suit the club, like Fergie signs players who suit his club. Fergie likes to sign arrogant, big mouthed, disrespectful players like Rooney, Evra, Cantona, Beckham etc, whereas City sign the opposite. Clichy, Kompany, Silva, Aguero. Can you imagine Vinnie playing for the rags in a million years? I'm surprised Hazard didn't sign for the rags as given his recent musings, he sounds like a shoe in for them.

I think Vinnie did his bit with Marwood there and told him to leave well alone!

you know what? you're absolutely right! and isnt it amazing that the personality of the players reflect the overall attitude of the club. the players are loudmouthed/outspoken/rude/ignorant and damn right pathetic

I don't for a second believe our owners would stand for the kind of disrespectful shite that comes out of the Stretford mob. It just isn't their style.
 
I think it's something that needs to be stressed, but it's something that some observers are beginning to realise - that no individual ever has only one motive for doing anything. We're all actually quite complex characters and footballers are as complex as anyone. Money is important to any professional but City have been painstaking in their search for players whose character is resilient, strong and dependable. And they have identified some real pearls! Just look at the spine of the team. Everyone is highle talented, but gives 110% as the norm. They have a fierce determination to win and an unshakeable spirit. They came to City to be part of a "project", to win things and to make history and tradition. They're just like all the other players too!

I've watched the QPR game at least a hundred times, as many of us have, and I still can't get over the attitude of every player, every member of the coaching staff and every club official. We looked dead and buried as the game wore on, we were playing as poorly as at any time of the season but no heads went down, no one resorted to desperate long balls into the box. We kept playing football. Zaba kept ploughing forward - will anyone ever forget the look on his face when he scored the opener? - as did Gael. Mario got his head down, Edin covered every blade of grass, Joe charged out to keep the ball moving forward and take throws in, Nigel showed real, calculating urgency, Sergio worked as always like a Trojan and Vinnie was...just Vinnie. And then it happened, and I'll never forget the sight of Joe just running round and roud, screaming "Yes!" before Gael caught him for the wildest of wild celebrations. The tunnel camera shows us Ya Ya sprint-limping onto the pitch to celebrate and later that night we saw that wonderful interview/conversation between Vinnie and Gary Lineker. Mercenaries only there for the money?!

Great players, real heroes and superb role models every one of them.

Excellent really well said. They are heroes everyone one of them and as we sing they "Fight to the End" thats the difference in City now they never give up until the last second of the game.
