Last week, a story by Alan Nixon in the mirror:

Redknapp sets sights on 'new Messi'
Published 23:01 06/03/11 By Alan Nixon

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has joined the chase for Argentina’s new superstar Juan Jose Vea Murguia.

The River Plate attacking midfielder, who plays in the same position and style as Lionel Messi, is heading for talks with Redknapp in the next few weeks - after deciding he wants to come to England.

Murguia, 18 in July, has refused to sign a deal with River Plate and been offered deals from clubs in both Spain and Italy. But his family prefer him to come to the Premier League.

The youngster is due to play in the South American under-17 championships this month and then come to London to sort out the deal. He can join permanently in the summer.

River Plate are furious with the player and his family for rejecting terms to stay with them. They only stand to make a small training fee compensation deal when he leaves.

Murguia comes from a Spanish background and Spurs will want to be sure he has Spanish citizenship before completing the transfer

The funny thing, its come to light that there is no actual player, he doesnt exsist. Classic Mirror

Though Arry said he is a terrific player, top top player, but he doesnt exsist so what can you do. If god doesnt want to create him its out of our hands but he is a terrific lad

Apparently Spurs still put in a £35 million bid for him, just in case...

Spurs: Ruining non-existent footballers since 2011

my question is this: is he cup tied?

Its not really Spurs though, its the Mirror. No qoutes from Spurs etc so looks like the reporter copy/pasted something from forums which wasnt true. Sums them up tbh

i heard one of the reasons he wanted to come to the PL was our song ....

"WE'RE NOT REALLY HERE"

........il get my coat.
