No. Not today.

The January transfer window.

I feared we would live to regret not strengthening the squad, we can all see the deficiencies in the team, yet "the richest club in the world" made only a a couple of questionable signings.

Where's the full back we needed... where's the driving midfielder... where's the forward options...?

Missed opportunities and I think Mancini may live to regret not insisting on having a decent budget when he took the job.

Those at the top of the club need to look at what they contributed in the January window... we had it there for the taking and I think we could have blown it.

We look tired, we have injuries. We had one chance at getting it right during the season. And chose not to.

I absolutely agree - what a bunch of fookin knob heads to try and sign a player who needed a work permit and whose work permit hearing was on the last day of the window - fookin utter total wankers that is all

Soulby, we haven't blown it. Christ, anyone would think we'd were four points behind fourth with a game to go.

I don't understand why we did not try to sign players earlier, why leave it till the last day? If we went earlier we could have got a work permit for Mariga sorted, Gago, and possibly a new left back, aswell as Johnson.

Soulby, we haven't blown it. We may be in the process blowing it but that is going to be a pretty long process. Does that mean that Spurs, Villa or both are also going to blow it tonight? Because at least one of them is dropping points tonight.

Yeah, you're right. I didn't mean it that way.

What I meant was that today was a crunch day... when the scousers had to win their game... which they did... and if Spurs win their game.. we are slipping behind. We had to win today, it really was a must-win... and we blew it big style.

It looks like the team is tired, they were knackered at the end of the Rags game at OT, we played shite last week against Pompey... and now today.

There is a trend develoiping, that's why I was desperate for us to strengthen properly. And we didn't. And for me that is a management error of judgement.

We now have to win our next two "must win" games against Boltoon at home and Stoke away... and if we do that I might soften my attitude.. but if we don't... Grrrhhh!!!

What a miserable week and a half but people are making too much of this January window. We do need to bring some loans in, though. I hope we're working on that already.

I thought we lost the appeal for Mariga's permit, or am I wrong? So time was irrelevant

We can't bring anyone in now, can we?

Not even loans.

City have spent millions in the last two years and every time there is a poor spell we can't just think that buying new players is the answer.

It is up to the manager to get the best out of the player we have.

Fair point.

It's just that I think our lack of a forward midfield player is so pronounced that we should have sorted that out as a priority... and sell a player if need be to balance the books.
