Missing woman Nicola Bulley - inquest (P 158)

She might not have mental health probs , dont jump to conclusions , although them saying she was vulnerable is a curve ball

It's a strange one to throw out there so late into the inquiry. If medical conditions that made her prone to blacking out then again I could see why they'd think she fell into the river. If it was mental health problems then surely straight away they'd have said she was a vulnerable person, as that could explain why she might have just took off. The police by throwing this curve ball out there have just thrown fuel onto a fire they were trying to dampen down. Most odd.

It just adds fuel to the speculation throwing that in with no further information. Sadly if there were mental health problems but not listed with a GP, just information from her partner, then people would think that alone was suspicious

Yes it will they said it at the start of the interview “at risk” people guessing what those were will now be endless.
A bit like the speculation on Madeleines disappearance, luckily there are mods on here to delete any inappropriate posts.

Bloody hell. So she's gone from a normal mother and partner to a high risk person, something they've never divulged before. That implies mental health/illness problems or unwanted attention from someone. If mental health problems that's probably why they made the assumption she went into the river.
It wasnt an assumption though was it?

Not so. Her being recognised as vulnerable from the very off is a good thing for several reasons and they have mentioned that today due to the ongoing nonsense that essentially are accusations of incompetence or some dereliction of duty.
Every missing person in the country, at the point of report, is assessed as either being low, medium or high risk. That is based on a nationally set practice that uses a risk assessment and matrix. That grading then dictates how the enquiry is managed, and sets in place a structure that allows for resources and specialist units to be brought in. As happened here.
It is nobodys business what that personal information is. Respectfully, it is likely that is depression or mental health related in some way, as we are told she is physically fit.
All the revelation today about vulnerability is for is to provide assurance that the scope of the enquiry has recognised the issues, and that is a positive.

Very well explained and I know due to the nature of your work that you would know from the inside how these things work. I recently watched the BBC documentary missing which showed the effort that goes into finding missing persons considered high risk.

I still think they've been a little negligent just concentrating all their efforts into the river theory. If she was high risk due to mental health problems surely she could have just left everything behind and walked off? She had extensive local knowledge and may have known that the path near her had no CCTV coverage and just took off down there. As a young fit woman in the two hours until the information she was missing was known she could have gone quite a distance. On a few of those programmes even old people had walked miles before they were found. Of course if this was the case then it's possible she would have been spotted on CCTV on her journey, unless she went straight into a vehicle.
