I think unfortunately the police felt their hand was forced due to the intensely wild speculation which has erupted around this case . There are bloody tick tockers and YouTubers knocking on doors and invading private property, and they getting hundreds of followers reiled up about a glove they found. Can you imagine, some trespasser finds an old glove and next thing you're being accused of murder by a thousand viewers sat at home playing guess who?
I feel for the family even more now, it's awful enough to have a missing mum but to start airing the secrets and difficulties is not going to make anything easier for them.
Of course people are free to think and speculate whatever think, like or hope will get them more views and popularity, but personally I'd support respectfulness as i can only come back to thinking of the poor kids, who could read a lot of that rubbish as they grow up.
The police don't always get it right, sometimes people are playing a game, but too many people need to take a step back and realise they are not key to the investigation, they're not about to crack the case for the police and god forbid anything as bad ever happens to them or their family.
