Missing woman Nicola Bulley - inquest (P 158)

very unlikely if you ask me. Someone planning suicide doesn't organise a play date for their kids 30 minutes before topping themselves
I think you will find you are very much mistaken.
I had a (sort of) pal who hung himself. He was at work, arranging jobs for the next day, pints for later, said he had to nip home and he’d be an hour… hung himself from the loft beams through the loft hatch. Left a not outside telling his wife not to go in and to call the police.

I dont think anyone will ever know the turmoil people go through and where their minds at

Spot on, that's why we have all the "Let's talk" adverts etcetera now, because people often portray a happy front but can be in turmoil inside.

Years ago my mate knew a very successful bloke, a millionaire. Huge house, married, kids. He bought properties abroad and my mate and some others would go out and do them up. He was out in Tenerife renovating a property when he got a phone call from the wife. Her husband had blown his brains out that morning with a shotgun. The night before he had been laughing and joking with my mate on the phone. He said he was a laugh a minute great bloke. No money worries nothing. You never know.

And thats the trouble isnt it. People still come out with the old “hes got money, decent job etc…. Whats he got to be depressed about”. You dont have to have anything to be depressed about!!!

Ive been very open with my mates about my minor mental health issues. Rather them know than not. Great thing is, they often come to me if they are feeling down. I think i only have 2 uses to my mates :) mental health and lumpy bollock advice :)))

Anyway, we digress

Statement from the family coming through including she had to stop hrt as it gave her headaches, she suffered from signifcant side effects from the menopause including brain fog, sounds like she is having a bad experience of the menopause , i did and it was hell
so there's a big chance she had a medical episode. This is far more likely than suicide

The very best mental health training I received at work was from an organisation based in Manchester. The lady that ran it (she had worked in the field for years) delivered the training and she asked "if a person has made up their mind to commit suicide, what do you expect their behaviour to be like in the few days before?"
The right answer, in a lot of suicide cases, was "happy and normal."
That's because they have finally committed to the plan and, as bizarre as it sounds to the rest of us, the burden has gone.

Yes I can see that for sure. They have wrestled with the demons for a while and made the decision. If anything their demeanor might appear more happy than normal at the end, especially among family and friends, as they know that will be their last memory of them, in spite of the shock of the actual act.

There's going to be more coming out in the next few days/weeks about this case.

When it does, it will, along with the menopausal and alcohol issues, perhaps give a bit more of an understanding as to why the police have worked on the hypothesis that they have.

The police made the mistake of asking for dash cam footage from Garstang Lane and Garstang Road, Nicola started her journey from the school and ended it on Blackpool Lane that’s where she parked her car.
It’s an easy mistake to make I hope they have rectified it now, it was the only way out with no video camera and right near the bench

The police have now referred themselves to the independent watchdog. Oh dear! they did there best
