Missouri proceeding with execution despite new DNA evidence

He allegedly confessed to a crack head and an alcoholic whilst in prison. None of the reports I've read mention unreleased evidence.
There is no dna evidence, finger prints, nothing that independently puts him as the murderer.
For reasons only known to the prosecution, they excluded 6 out of 7 black people from sitting on the jury.
Even the prosecution accepted he should not die but everyone was ignored.
Come on mate, you know how it works over there, Boss, we have a suspect, did he do it ?, we think so yes, good enough for me, kill him, case closed.

This can't be true. We're constantly told be death penalty advocates that it's only used when the evidence is overwhelming and there's no doubt.

Unless........maybe, just maybe, they're full of shit and only interested in satisfying their own sick bloodlust?

There's no place for the death penalty in modern civilised society. It's also not a cheaper option like people bang on about.

The fact that the prosecution had 6 of the 7 black members of the jury removed before the trial says a lot about the USA as a nation. Basically saying that they expect citizens to make decisions based on race/colour rather than be objective about the evidence in front of them.
Welcome home, sir: OJ Simpson is back in court, this time in shackles » YNaija
