Missouri proceeding with execution despite new DNA evidence

Hmmm!
Can’t say I’ve ever seen that being an issue over here.
The race issue doesn’t really arise.
And nor should it in reality, though other forms of prejudice are not exclusive to any particular jurisdiction around the globe, especially when such prejudice might not be so identifiable on or at face (pun) value alone.

This can't be true. We're constantly told be death penalty advocates that it's only used when the evidence is overwhelming and there's no doubt.

Unless........maybe, just maybe, they're full of shit and only interested in satisfying their own sick bloodlust?

There's no rational defendable position on the death penalty...
  • it's shown to result in murdering innocent people
  • studies show it does not offer closure to victims families
  • it doesn't reduce the homicide rate
  • the cost of prosecuting a death penalty case is significantly more expensive than incarcerating someone for life
the only "reason" to do it is vengeance, for the people who have no vested interest in a case as you say it is simply bloodlust

Or to shut people up.

I only picked out 5 clips, he has many many more, equally controversial and very questionable that should have/be scrutinized under sherlocks magnifying glass.
It just seems so obvious when they're all lined up like in your post. How is that not triggering any alarms?

It’s quite amazing how much it costs to push for the death penalty, we have an ongoing case in the Valley where there is no doubt about the guy’s guilt but it would bankrupt the prosecutor’s office. They’ve already instructed local cops not to pursue low key offenses like pot possession as they simply can’t cope with the work load

Is pot possession an executable offence?
Quite strict in Idaho, aren’t you?

Totally agree, sadly the ability to apply a basic critical analysis and critical thinking is lost on many.

Crime is big business.

They say 'Crime doesn't pay' ...dafuq outta here, apart from those actively pursuing, committing and are guilty of, crime keeps officials, agencies, body corporates n the likes in pocket exponentially.

It's pretty crazy that 2 of the most damaging parts of the prosecution are both "hearsay" and come from a homeless alcoholic who shared a prison cell and a crackhead prostitute who were both offered $10,000 to provide the evidence that sealed his fate.
