I am wearing my armoured vest for an onslaught here.......

Is it just me or have other people thought it, that the money we are reported to be dishing out in this Kaka deal we could get 5/6 top notch players, Kaka is a class act i agree, 1 of only 3 or 4 players in the world of that quality, but I honestly think he isnt what we need right now, dont get me wrong, marvellous if he comes, but we are flush with attacking midfielders and weak in other areas,
With the money we are supposed to be paying I would look at
Seedorf, Arshavin, Lescott, RSC, Cheillini (is that how its spelt) De Jong, Toure (both of em).

And thats for starters, I am positive these would have more of an effect than 1 singular player ever will.

I now run for shelter.

Completely agree.
Of course if Kaka came it would be amazing but if he then got injured for a long period what would happen?
Even 3 of the players above would make a greater impact.

Your thinking about it the wrong way.

We CAN afford kaka AND another 4/5/6 players of quality. Its not just one or the other.

I would agree you if the choice was either or but it isn't we can get Kaka and THEN get the players you outline, the budget doesn't stop at 100 million.

Plus if we get Kaka we are in a far stronger position to attract other world class players.

I think everyone is missing the point that we can also buy 3 or 4 world class players, its not either or, we can have both and will have both. Kaka will open the door to almost ANY other player in the world

once we have kaka we`ll be taken seriously in the football world and players will be beating the door down to come to the club,so it can only be a good thing, the kaka signing is a statement of intent by the owners that they want the club to be the best in the world,i`m just buzzing to see who we get next!! i`ve got no mixed emotions at all!!!!

Did you see him just run down the field?

Faster than anybody I've seen with the ball.

We wouldn't get 5 or 6 top notch players for that money, just look at the shit with RSC & blackburn with them wanting around 20+ mill. Everyone is out to milk us for everything they can get (even before the kaka deal), so if were going to pay stupid prices we may as well pay stupid price for the very best.

Rob was a statement of intent. The money were shelling out, could it not lead clubs to hold us to ransom? And help build up their transfer funds? And would his wages (if to be believed) not cause unrest in the dressing room.

Also watching the interviews with Hughes, ok so he isnt the most charismatic of people, but he doesnt seem to have a clue whats going on,
Is it his deal or a deal from higher up the food chain?

Do you honestly think the powers that be would throw everything at one superstar and not bother addressing the problem areas.

By the end of the month my guess is that there will be another 5 or 6 world class players wearing our shirt.

I hope your right, maybe its the old City in me where the job goes tits up.

We are buying THE best player in the world imo therefore 100 million is the most we can spend on any player.

We probably paid slightly over the odds - but then we had to in order to get him in this window. When Ronaldo was rumoured to be going to Real Madrid the press were quoting a transfer fee of £75 million so we in truth we haven't paid much over the going rate.

Teams like Milan, Madrid etc don't let world class players go unless the offer was too good to turn down. That is what we have had to do.
