MLB 2022

The Phillies have been singing Dancing On My Own in the locker room and the fans have picked up on it for today's game. This is the subway line heading toward the ballpark this morning. We Americans don't usually sing at games so if this comes off at the stadium w/ 40,000+ people singing it could be pretty cool.

Two home games to seal it.

Good win for the Guardians in the Bronx, 4-2 after 10. Squares the series 1-1 and now they head to Cleveland for the next two.
I called a Guardians-Phillies World Series at the start of the playoffs! Wish I’d put a bet on it.
We’re out of town this weekend, as when we booked the trip earlier this summer, we never thought for a minute Cleveland would be in the postseason, so we have given our season tickets to friends for this weekend.

What a way and what a time to come back! One more win needed.

A game 5 decider tonight in the Bronx between the Guardians and Yankees.
A couple of second-string starters on the mound, in what is likely to be a bullpen-heavy game and with a dodgy weather forecast to boot. Going to be an interesting night.

Still as confident?

Great to see the Padres beat Chelsea the Dodgers, but I wonder if that was their high point.

Yeah, I’m so happy the Padres beat LA.
I think tonight’s game really is a coin-flip, though the Guardians need to overcome two things; firstly limit the long-ball as it’s the only way the Yankees can score, secondly overcome the absolute blatant strike-zone manipulation by the umps in the Yankees favour. It’s already been well-documented on social media this past weekend. Game 3 was especially blatant. Now LA are out, MLB and Fox are gonna pull out all the stops to make it a NY vs Philly WS.
I know I’m getting into tinfoil territory, but just for a laugh, here’s the national TV market size rankings of the teams left.

1. NY
4. Philly
10. Houston
17. Cleveland
28. San Diego

Not to be then. Commiserations. As you say, there’s a lot of power in that Yankees batting, but maybe Schwarber and Harper could match them.
