Luka Modric has alerted Chelsea and Manchester City to a potential January transfer after the Real Madrid midfielder admitted he is unsettled in Spain.
Mordric left Tottenham for the Bernabeu in August but has struggled to adapt, despite making 20 appearances for Jose Mourinho’s side this term.
Having recently been given the unwanted title of ‘worst Spanish signing of the season’ by newspaper Marca, enough is starting to prove enough for the Croatian, who has scored just once since his move from White Hart Lane.
‘It’s very demanding to adjust to a huge club like Real Madrid,’ said Modric.
Now Chelsea and Manchester City are looking to offer the 27-year-old a get-out clause.
The Blues were in hot pursuit of the midfielder over the summer, but failed to secure his services. And now with Frank Lampard looking certain to depart Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, Modric could prove the perfect replacement.
But Manchester City are also thought to be keen on the former Spurs man, with boss Roberto Mancini always looking to bolster his squad.

Anyone stating that he either isnt good enough or that we don't need him clearly does not have the same view of our midfield as i do.
Can do all of the deep-lying midfield stuff, can do the attacking stuff, and is also capable of scoring goals and picking passes.
Aside from the likely price, I can't see a downside, tbh.

He almost played as a deeplying playmaker in the last of his spurs days. He did very will in that role too, defintley have him here.
Re Fantasy Ireland, why would Barry need to be moved on? He does a great job for us and we have relied on him time and time again he is one of our best performers. Problem is half people on here know nothing about football and want a foreigner who they have seen on You Tube just for the sake of a transfer. I think Modric would be a good buy but as Baconface has shown with Giggs and Scholes experience is vital!

Nothing to do with his ability,Barry has been up there with our best purchases.I think he will be moved on for financial reasons given his age and contract situation.
All good things come to an end and a player like Modric would soften the effect and maybe even improve us.
