Monaco post match

It's not 100% at all. Watch it on TV. Keeper gets the ball first but then takes out Aguero. Keepers seem to be able to take a forward out if they get a bit of the ball. To my mind that is still a foul. It's not a dive, but it's not clear cut. The ref actually got most things right. What he got wrong was booking Aguero.

I've watched it on the TV. It's a penalty.

It was 100% a penalty and the keeper took him down.

To book him for diving is rubbing salt in the wounds. Why do our HONEST players I.e Aguero and Sterling, never get given fouls in the box? Instead they get accused of being cheats.
Watch it on TV highlights. You might change your opinion. Ref had a good game. Very strict but applied rules correctly and consistently. One error was booking Aguero.

Bastards. I had Stones last goal at 50/1.
After Falcao's stunning chip, our 5th was the best goal of the night. Beautiful move.
Silva was mesmerising, again. Such a terrier with total control.
Sane has the balance of Darcey Bussell and when in full flow is a joy to watch.
Get Zabba on.

I've seen every highlight going. It's a clear penalty and would be given 99% of the time for anyone else.

Just seen a replay for the first time. Definitely a pen for me.

Some say he goes down a millisecond before contact in an ultra slow mo replay, but that's bollocks. Count to 1 in your head and then imagine a millisecond.

Even most rags are saying it was a pen and think it's funny that it wasn't given and the BT lot & media mostly thought it was a pen as well.

Ok, Sterling was reported as missing the next game if he had been booked, on UEFA (booooooooooo, let it go) its reported he has just two bookings and I take it that means he isn't suspended. However two Monaco players now have three yellows after last night, Jemerson and Kamil Glik, can someone confirm these two will miss the next leg?

Unbelievable, everyone and their rag parents, Monaco and the French press included, admitting it's a penalty and a few deluded blues in here trying to suggest otherwise.

There was clear contact in the box with Aguero through on goal. It's a free kick anywhere else on the park. There, it's a penalty and red card for the keeper.

It's as clear cut as it gets.

The referee guidance on fouls is simple, if you touch the ball yet fail to disposess the player (ie. make sufficient contact for the player to pivot and change direction) and take them out its a foul. It also matters not a jot where the foul takes place or who makes the challenge.

Penalty.

Trying to think of a better game of football i've seen at the etihad, im struggling.

Oh, have all the lurking rags in the match thread been banned? Fucking loads of the wankers.
