Monchengladbach post match (top of the group)

Seems like we only started playing AFTER we heard that Sevilla had gone in front.

One of those inexplicable games. Don't know why BMG played the way they did in the second half. They must have run out of steam and after we got level you could see them beginning to think the game was up for them. A lot of the stuff that wasn't going our way in the first half started getting put together in the second. The frustrating thing is that I think the City squad just wait for it to drop into place rather than imposing their game on the opposition.

Amazing night. The real European nights are here people, hopefully more start showing up now. :)

Amazing game! Historic and Typical City in the best way. Doing it the hard way, exciting, attacking, sometimes terrible. It's a great journey.
We've just topped the group of death, this game and Sevilla away were classics.
Back to the game itself Silva was exquisite, a rare and beautiful thing is a Merlin goal, stunning finish tonight.
Other standouts for me were Yaya, Aleks, Mangala, Fernandinho, Delph and Clichy.
Perhaps Gladbach did tire, Joe said so himself, but we did fight 'til the end and again in a big game we were deadly in the last 10 mins.
Sterling definitely motm. Sweet back heel to assist David and two clinical finishes, the 3-2 goal top class. Not to mention the flick leading to our 4th. Happy 21st for sure.
Can't say anyone played badly tonight. Really looking forward to the knockout stages. If our best team is fit and on fire, then we can beat anyone.

Just a superb performance in the 2nd half, thrilling to see City's relentless work pay off, BMG def wore down with the continued pressure and likely the exertions from the Bayern match too. What an amazing birthday for Sterling, hope he celebrates mightily but skips the shisha! On the media bias front, there is no respite over here in the States sadly. City's game was obviously one of the most exciting of the day, but it was buried after FOX gave recaps of every other match! With plenty of sadness over the rags' impotence of course. Then to add to the shameful slant, in the "official" post-game show after showing the highlights with the match announcer's calls, their entire analysis consisted of Fabian Johnson's heat map! Ridiculous jingoism, though no real surprise for FUX. To not mention Raheem's star turn is just horrible, easily the top performance of the day in a pressure filled match (I choose to ignore Ronaldo's 4 goals vs. the overwhelmed Malmo in a meaningless match)

Second half showed how much we need fully functioning attacking fullbacks. Their wide players were pulled back and created the space we needed in the centre. Pressing high meant that the speed and anticipation of Eli and Otamendi could be exploited.
