More flat track bullying

Not going back through 19 pages of stuff, but "flat track bully" is a well known saying. Applies to cricket, but is also used in other sports. A bit like England in rugby. Very good at looking good against crap teams, but put them up against anyone decent, and they can't cope.
A reasonable description of City at the moment. I remain to be convinced otherwise, but live in hope.

At a guess (and I know nothing nor care a jot about cricket) I would have thought it was about a runner who can't go up hills but is fast otherwise. Aren't all cricket greens flat? Daft relating it to footy either way.

Well it's an English thing.

I understand it obviously and to be honest it basically says we can win 4-0 at home against any shit team like Aston Villa.

But can't beat/struggle against any decent team.

The Liverpool 4-1 at home defeat, or the Liverpool 3-0 away defeat sums this up perfectly.

A flat track in cricketing terms means the ball won't deviate at all, the wicket has no life, no swing, no bounce, no pace, it just pops up nice and easy for the batsman to hit.

Thanks for the explanation. So regarding football, where the only person handling the ball is the keeper and our development has different types of grass built in, plus it's cricket, makes it a stupid term to apply to football. imho.

it's not stupid, it's an analogy. It means someone/thing excels when circumstances are easiest but is poorer when things are tough.
