More student protests

Today. Had a student on the box this morning who said what happened at the protests the other week wasn't violent because "smashing windows and setting fire to stuff is just civil disobedience and they weren't being violent towards anybody" These people are supposed to be reasonably clever aren't they?

Im sure the 'clever' ones were not doing the smashing of windows most like me were sat watching it on the TV like the rest of you.

Just because a small pocket of pricks decided to smash up a building doesn't mean we're all stupid. Who's to say they all went to Uni anyway? I'm sure there would have been a few people there looking to cause damage and didn't even know what it was all about.

I'm gonna be right in the thick of it.

I work for the GMPTE and we are out making sure passengers know where the temp stops are for their buses etc and making sure they are safe. Bloody great, it's freezing, I'm full of the flu and I've got to put up with fecking students all day.

I'd agree on one level but this girl had obviously been asked to be a spokesperson, so my assumption and most others I'd think was that she was reasonably clever. To come out with a statement like she did painted students in general in a bad light.
