Morgan Gibbs-White

I really like him as a player, think he’d surprise a few. But with KDB leaving if he was the replacement it’d still be massively underwhelming. Don’t think he’d move the needle too much for us, especially in the Champions League if we manage to qualify. And you can bet he’ll cost a penny or two.

Nobody in world football can replace Kev but we have to get this one right
 
Think MGW is better than a lot are giving him credit for. He was excellent against us this season. He’s got bags of energy, can do a job deeper in the #8 and as a 10 - in the half-spaces. He’s a better at long range passing than anyone we’ve got bar KDB who will be off. He’s a great presser aswell. Established PL player which I wouldn’t say Nunes was - I didn’t think he was particularly good at Wolves. Phillips plays in a completely different role; while also playing in the number 6 for Leeds is a much different task to doing it at City. He’s also HG which we will need. Don’t see the issue tbh. I know people want a flashy name: Wirtz, Cherki etc who are quality players aswell but MGW is a stellar player and had a great season.
 
After the failures of Matheus Nunes, Grealish and Phillips, still trying to buy an average player at a high price. I'm fuming!
 
I think you have to look at the fact that despite this guy being one of the better midfielders in the league this year he is still struggling to get into the England team.

I don't hate it at 50 Million, but at 100M... I'd rather go all out for Baleba or Reijnders
 
Also worth nothing he’d probably do the role we wanted for Paqueta and Bellingham - we ended up with Nunes and he has the sort of qualities to play that role.

Well tbf the squad is stacked with talent. Foden, Bellingham, Saka, Palmer, Rogers it’s quite hard to take a spot over them.
 
I’m not surprised we are interested but can’t see us paying 100m for him. So I think eventually we’ll look elsewhere which could easily just be Nico O’Reilly.
 
I think if he’s the target as the #8 - he could be great and cover a lot of position - more akin to Bernardo than Kev.

He would be an 8. The legs to replace Bernie.

Never a 10 target for us. Partly because he’s not good enough there but also we are all in for Wirtz currently. If he rejects us we will then get the next target at 10 leaked not now.

That’s why I don’t see the apparent issues. If we get him for a reasonable fee and I’m talking around 70m mark im happy with that. We have been needing legs all season. He’s much better than Szobodzlai who Liverpool paid similar for.
 
Would love him to come. But wouldn’t love him to be the one the club see as a Kev replacement.

Think he’d be mustard in the 8 for us, energetic and brilliant on the ball. Not a creative monster like Wirtz or Kev.

Creative numbers are quite decent for him (better than i expected anyway) MGW top. (Goal creating actions 16 vs 19)
