Morrissey on the Jubilee!

Mine was a general observation, away from the OP subject.

Can't stand him anymore. Clutched onto him using a glimmer of hope that his musical output would improve, but it is the worst it has ever been. So to compensate for this, he makes outlandish statements to the press to stay in the public eye. The Norway/Brevic fiasco was the final straw for me....

"We all live in a murderous world, as the events in Norway have shown, with 97 [sic] dead. Though that is nothing compared to what happens in McDonald's and Kentucky Fried shit every day."

Morrissey has always been vocal in his beliefs both personal and political ever since the early days of the smiths,it is nothing new,he is a strong vegetarian, something again which he has always been vocal about and in just as strong terms from the very early days.

You don't need to teach me about Morrissey, royle.

Yes, he has always held strong beliefs especially over animal welfare and is a big supporter of PETA. But back in the days of The Smiths, he didn't need to make outlandish statements to the press as the quality of the band's output was incredibly good. This is separate to the subject matter in some of his lyrics (e.g. Reel Around The Fountain, Pretty Girls Make Graves).

Now, he is in the press regularly with comments getting more and more controversial . To compare the Brevik case to the corporate food industry is, in my opinion, distasteful. I know this one incident lost Morrissey a lot of long term fans as well as me who are disillusioned with his comments and diabolical musical output of late.

Chinese Comments
"Did you see the thing on the news about their treatment of animals and animal welfare? Absolutely horrific. You can't help but feel that the Chinese are a subspecies."

Basically, this website was one of the few outlets to find out information on Morrissey around the turn of the millennium when Maladjusted sold just 10000 copies.

Just a few reasons (apart from the t-shirt one as it ties into his long term opinion on the Monarchy) why long term Moz fans think he is losing his marbles a bit.

All i can answer is this is Morrissey, this was always Morrissey,Margaret on the Guillotine?

His views on vegetarianism are well known from way back,Meat is Murder? I also remember him back in the early 90's saying that McDonalds should be bombed,or something similar.

To compare the Brevik case to the corporate food industry is, in my opinion, distasteful.

Distastful, maybe? But this is a man that values animal life, you can question the timing of it but it was the timing of it that ensured his views got maximum publicity.

We meat eaters think nothing of the meat that we buy from Asda that ends up on our dinner plates, but if you walked into Asda tomorrow and saw them selling dog,or kittens to eat, stripped of their fur and hung up on a butchers hook, you would be outraged, the nation would be outraged, this is Morrisseys view on all animals that get butchered for our consumption.

The chinese one is in response again to the treatment of animals.

The falklands one i have no problem with, not everyone thinks we have a right to those Islands,if he thinks they should be Argentinian then he is allowed that opinion, you don't have to agree with it.

The we hate william and kate t-shirt,is just another way of having a pop at the institution of royalty, not very subtle but it makes its point.

He has a lot of anger built up in him,he needs to release his tension by smashing the back doors of a beautiful blonde groupie.oh wait I forgot.he doesn't care for that does he
