That was in Roermond NL I seem to remember, wankers gave the guy no chance
It was actually Wildenrath mate just behind the camp, the killed some Aussie tourists in Roermond by mistake, set of c***s the lot of them.

I have spoke to a few people about this event and the questions of why they never got there semi-automatics out and sprayed bullets everywhere always come up

Living here in Belfast, i remember this vividly....but, what semi-automatics?

They were off duty, they werent meant to be there, they wouldnt have had additional weapons on them

I've looked at this pic many times and I'm still not sure what I'm looking for. Perhaps the camels might appear to be riding on the backs of turtles but I'm really not sure.

All off duty personnel carried a pistol as far as I remember, if they had started shooting then maybe they thought it would be unforgivable possibly thinking they would just be beat up but certainly not killed obviously in hindsight I'd have emptied my gun and hopefully that would have cleared the crowd enough to drive away.

The photo's been taken from directly overhead. You're looking at their shadows. A fine photo, but certainly not amongst the most powerful ever taken.

Well they cant just start shooting into the crowd, the shots fired were warning shots hoping to disperse the crowd. They had no hope.

With dozens, probably hundreds of people descending on them they never would have got away...remember, weeks earlier a similar incident (in their eyes) happened....Michael Stone attacked a funeral...this was the funeral of one of his victims. They didnt know they were of duty squaddies. They thought it was happening all over again.

This is by no means a defence for what happened to those poor soldiers. It was a horrendous time. And scarily close to returning.

Is that it? That's obvious from the photo. I was looking for some hidden meaning or perhaps a famous figure from world history hidden amongst the herd
