I was reading the Pogba thread last year and saw a post from Tolmies Hairdoo saying "he's going to United". Looked up the odds and it was 25/1. Tried to put £20 on it, but they'd only let me have £10. Put it on and went back to the thread, and saw he was replying to a comment about Sanchez who ended up at Bayern, not Pogba.
Thought I'd spunked a tenner but ended up with £260. Which was nice.

Got about 120 quid from 1 pound, our first season after the takeover, had Robinho first goalscorer and 2-1 away at Everton.

We practically hadn't won away all season and Everton had won 7 in a row at home.

Robinho scored first, we went 2-0 up, then Dan Gosling scored in the 96th minute.

If you include the Lotto then it was £141 about 3 years ago.Plenty of £3 - £10 wins also but nothing spectacular.

Won £720 in the late 90's on a place pot that paid £7200 to the £1, I had just been made redundant at the time so it was very welcime

In terms of odd backed
Burnley vs City 1-6 was 200/1

Michael Thompson first round leader @US open golf was 225/1

Had a couple of lucky 15s that have returned over £1400

On the flip side the biggest loss was backing Brazil in 2010 me and a mate had £800 &9/2
Only one winner long term tho

One thing I've learnt about inveterate gamblers: they only ever tell you when they've won!

That said, and purely by chance, the last four (London, Vienna, Vegas x2) serious visits by me to a casino (in the last nine years btw!) have ended up in me winning several hundred pounds on each occasion. It was roulette on three of those four occasions, so I'm not going to be so arrogant as to suggest that the outcome was down to anything other than luck. I usually put money on 7 & 13 and I was in the right place at the right time. It's a mugs' game, if you ask me.

And quite clearly on my post I have put up my biggest losing stake,just for balance,and yes it is a mugs game,but it's also an addiction,and for me it's the worst one

Also £280 off a £1.50 stake many Years ago (Northern Ireland England 1-0, Healy as scorer)
