Tony Book. Player - Captain - Manager.

Even after losing his Manager's job he stayed with the Club in a variety of positions and he often stepped forward in the short term to take on the role of "Caretaker" on the many occasions when we were between incompetent buffoons.

I was actually quite surprised when Kiddo got that particular gig for the Reading game after the sad departure of Mr Mancini.

another very good shout. skip bleeds blue.

Although I wouldn't of worded quite the same,I agree with the sentiment.
He was a great player in his day,I believe.Along with Harry Godwin and Steve Fleet was the backbone of our youth system nurturing a lot of our greatest home grown talent into first team players.
Winning the FA youth cup against the rags in '86,was the pinnacle of his achievements(someone should write a book about this).
Good shout for Alan Oakes and Mike Doyle, although Doyle was quite bitter towards City after he was forced out ,but mainly directed at Swales.

Paul Lake, if only and still 150% blue and rather supriIsingly talks common sense....... Some should take note
