As if the result wasn't bad enough, something called searchnu.com has hi-jacked my browser. I have un-installed it etc, but from a quick search it appears to be one which is difficult to get rid of.

Any advice would be really appreciated, thanks in advance.

It's nasty, you need to follow these steps bud :)

<a class="postlink" href="http://malware-removal.windowsupdatesonline.com/how-to-remove-searchnu-com-virus-httpwww-searchnu-com406-hijacker-remover/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://malware-removal.windowsupdateson ... r-remover/</a>

Did you install the ilivid toolbar ? because it seems to come budled with that.

Turn of all browsers and rmove it via add & remove programs. Then reboot.

Yes, I wasn't paying attention and ended up installing the ilivid toolbar.

Removing it from Add and Remove Programs didn't work, but I have restored the PC to an earlier point which has removed it.

Thanks for your advice pal, much appreciated.
