My YouTube channel - Episode 48 (P26)

They do tend to be situated in clutches - and made by the same localish man in each relevant town.
Will be going out next weekend to film 5 in a day. Two are side by side.
Further along the line there are 3 on the same road over a very very short distance

Some very long bridges on that video episode 13 and 14 ?

That's a fantastic picture of Corporal Scott who the bridge is named after, and some of the supports for that bridge reminded me of the leaf suspension of a military land rover, spent many an hour scrubbing those with a wire brush back in the day.

The shindig to celebrate the reopening was one I would have loved an invite to, and mate....it still looks cold enough to freeze a brass monkeys knackers off :)

The first time of filming my fingers were going numb holding the camera stick and script. I’d filmed that bit immediately after filming the previous episodes clip down in the wilderness surrounded by nothing but snow (that filming and the bridge were 2 miles apart) I’d had enough.
Went back the following Saturday and started from the top of the dam - so windy I gave up talking and just filmed it, voicing over the film in the studio.
I’ve got 2 more snow episodes (filmed the weekend before last and we’ve had a great thaw with temperatures in the high 50’s this week. I’m hoping I’ve seen the last of it but local folk tell me not to get my hopes up too much.
The problem I have now is all my local bridges (within 45 mins) have been done. So now every bridge is an hour away minimum and I’m going to be filming at least 5 each time I go out and each one has to be done in one take. The local ones I’ve been going back a few times if needed. If I have to fuck about in snow that will slow me down. Last week it took me 25 mins to go down a bank to the river in knee deep snow and about 35 mins back up. This would have taken me less than 2 mins each way without the snow.

I’ve filmed at 16 so far. 84 to go!

A Gorilla on a unicycle in this episode you're spoiling us :) Add that to it's the (2nd) (1st) longest bridge in Vermont and it's a fine start.

How many signs does a bridge need and there is no way
I'm getting on that train that goes above the bridge EVER.

Always Irene was subtle :)

PS...can't wait for the decent weather for your sake.

Next week's episode (filmed 2 weeks ago) is snow bound (I actually went back yesterday as it is 20 mins away and filmed in the river as I could finally get in it now the snow / ice has thawed.)
The following episode was filmed in September so that's OK and hopefully we've seen the last of the white stuff - though work colleagues are doubtful.....

From now on the bridges are all over an hour away so no going back to re-film...... Will be doing a minimum of 6 bridges each trip! Fortunately, most of the bridges were built in clusters and are very near to each other so that helps, and the clocks went forward here last weekend so it's light until 7pm.

Can you find the 2 bands and 2 songs mentioned in this episode?
(Yes the first band didn’t sing the first song but they are connected!)

I got

Beautiful South but not the song

That bridge looked very sturdy and you finally got to wading even though it was a bit wet on one side. I wonder why the locals didn't like the bridge being a bit higher even though it was to stop the bridge being compromised?

Fuck going over those wooden plank bridges on an enormous train locomotive, I shit myself going over Dintin bridge in Glossop :)

Thanks!
You got the first band and named the connecting artist who sang the first song in your spoiler ;)

I spent $2.99 yesterday at the local bicycle shop on puncture repair patches. I found the little hole on the right thigh!

I presume they had to put a ramp in place to match the rise in that end of the bridge. Maybe they objected to the ramp slowing them down?

Sorry mate I didn’t clock any! What’s that first tune at the beginning though?
My mate Adam is in a couple of tribute bands (Viva Morrissey and Happy Mondaze) and I asked him for 2 Smithsesque tunes for the videos and that’s what he gave me, so no copyright issues.
There’s another tune in the middle when I show old pictures of each bridge. Definitely a reworking of The Hand That Rocks The Cradle.
The intro and outro he says was his take on Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now

I could tell it was someone who’s into that sound. Fucking love it mate. Tunes.
