Nasri [Merged] continued.

Either the Arsenal board are counting on renewing Nas' contract or he is going this window. Taking a hit of 15 Mil is just bad economics. From Nas' perspective it would be better to wait out his contract, if money is what matters most to him.

From an Arsenal point of view, it's much better to sell him now.

Totally agree

Idealy i would want him available for all comps but it's no biggy if he's Tied for the Champs League imo.

Until he signs on the dotted line he's contracted to play for Arsenal, he can't just turn around and say he's not playing.
Hopefully it wont come to that.............

Yes he can. Players get "injuries" all the time.

Fabregas missed the whole of the pre-season... and played immediately for Barca.

If he really wants to sign for City that's what he has to do.

If he decides to play then it's clear his interest in City isn't the same level as we have. And I have a sneaky feeling the owners may be pushing the boat out on this signing for Champions League success rather than just domestic.

Yeah but he's not "injured" at the moment is he and Wenger needs every man and his dog at the moment.

If he's told to play he'll play otherwise he's in breach of his contract

Playing devils advocat we'd be screaming at Mancini to play him if roles reversed

Well it appears, after all, that Nasri has decided to focus on where his future lies... as predicted!

A player can NEVER be forced to play.

It's not down to the manager or the club as to when a player turns out... it is always down to the player.

Thing is though as a professional football player then you have to fulfil your role of employment. Surely to decline to play leaves him in breach of his contract? Is it not the same as me deciding, despite my job role, not to come in on that day and still expect payment?

Despite my allegiance, I'd have more respect for him if he respected his clubs and Wengers wishes and fulfilled his duties to his club rather than made the move to us in one way but if he really wants to come to City I can understand why he doesn't wish to risk placing the move in jeapordy.

If I was Samir I would run down my contract and receive a huge signing on fee with higher wages. It's not as if he needs the money, but why turn down the opportunity to line your pockets?
