He looked assured. Could control the ball and pass it to his team mates. He looked athletic and a threat from set pieces. He seemed to know how to block crosses and stay close to his opposite number. All up, on first viewing in that position, he seems to offer us something different on that side of the field to what we have in most of those above categories.
I’d still like us to sign an actual left back, but he looks to potentially offer stability there, which for 10-15 games a season against the top teams we sorely lack.
