Nathan Ake

Not a signing to get excited about and at £35m, I think we’ve been robbed.
Homegrown CB being sold to a rich club like us, it was never going to be cheap. It's just one of those things - it ultimately doesn't effect us as fans or how the club operates because we're so strong financially, so there's no point in getting hung up on it. Whatever we manage to get for Stones and/or Otamendi should be able to cover a sizeable amount of it.

Decent signing, and think the fee is reasonable. Get Koulibaly and we’re well set with Laporte, Koulibaly, Ake and Garcia as our four centre halves. Would be a big upgrade on Stones and Otamendi.
You heard anything mate?

Laporte / Ake - Koulibaly / Garcia sounds like a good CB bunch to me. Also nice that he can play in various positions if needed. Looks like we will need to play him only against teams who don't pose an ariel threat, though. Sounds like he'll be found against against good crossers/tall strikers.

1. He’s home grown.
2. He’s got everything in his locker bar height.
3. He’s playing in the team least capable of defending and is a star everytime.
4. He can play left back.
5. He’d better than Stones and Otamendi
6. He improves our squad.
7. It’s not your money.

2. Have you watched him? Brilliant in the air, would also be a threat from set pieces.

Excellent signing.

CB + LB. Two birds, one stone. Exceptional ball playing ability, decently quick. As a backup player, you don’t expect him to have everything:

“The Bournemouth man is also quick for a centre-back, which is a highly valuable trait considering the high defensive line that City opt to employ virtually every single week. Ake is less vulnerable than most when having to deal with through passes in behind.

On the negative side, though, Ake is very poor aerially in comparison to his peers, which may stem from his height - standing 5ft 11in - meaning he would be City's shortest centre-back.

Some 58 central defenders have accumulated over 1,000 minutes in the Premier League this season, with Ake placing 57th for aerial duel success.

He wins just 46.6 percent of his aerial battles which places him ahead of only Southampton's Jack Stephens and for further context, some 283 central defenders have accumulated over 1,000 minutes in Europe's top five leagues this season with Ake ranking inside the bottom 25.”

Fucking hell he sounds shit

The fans of the club players are leaving often tells the story, and by all accounts Bournemouth fans rate him highly and would be sad to see him go for the fee mentioned. In reality, it’s probably fair, but I think that’s always a good sign. Homegrown is a bonus.

Atleast he can play football, which makes him infinitely more suited to our game than most. Quick and strong too. All the assets needed that under the right coach he could be excellent for us.

I like him. £35m is a decent price (I would hope it's £25m+£10m add ons), hopefully we get a decent offer for Stones and Otamendi. Let the money men worry about that.

I'd want Koulibaly as well as though.

Laporte, Koulibaly, Ake and Garcia is a solid set of centre halves.

I have one Bournemouth fan in my phone book, asked his view and his words were “He’s quality, best player we’ve ever had”. Doesn’t usually hold back either, he’s not particularly fond of City.
