Nathan Ake

Lets face it we overpaid for him, been nothing more than a good back up. Seems a good guy and a solid professional but, he is fourth choice and for me has spent too much time on the treatment table including the end of the season when we needed him If, he stays then fine but hopefully we get £50M and promote Mbete
You could argue that we underpaid for him if we got 2 years usage out of him and sold him for a profit.

Must admit I've gradually come round to this over a period of weeks. Didn't want Aké to go, at all, but by God if someone's foolish enough to shell out £50 million, come on, you've got to separate a fool and his money. That said, there's no proof that that's what it's going to be.
With the money that we've got from Jesus, Sterling and potentially this (not forgetting Lavia, which was far from a negligible sum for essentially an academy player), we must surely be able to find a centre back in England or Europe who can do the job as a good back-up.
I'll still be very disappointed if we don't get Cucu, though.
Porro and Bazunu too for the combined fee of nigh on 20m.

Incredible dealing this summer, the monies raised are incredible, 95m plus for Sterling and Ake is sensational.
Agreed, plus £45m+ for Jesus and £50m for Torres in January too, aswell as the monies saved on wages with Dinho and Sterling being big earners. Then to get Haaland for only £51m - great business by the club!

Now just get a top left back in and i'll be well happy going into the season.
