Navas on his way ?

I don't like or dislike players solely on their abilities. Hardwork and passion come first for me and I never had a problem with Navas in that regard.

I get the impression under Pep that effort, handwork and passion are a given - hopefully talent will be the differentiating factor which is why Navas is being shown the door. Sorry

Too many lethergic performances from quite a few players last season but Navas was never guilty of that. I'm not necessarily against him leaving, but I don't think he should be the first. The likes of Yaya, Nasri, Kolarov, Bony etc should be top of the list.

Not so sure about that. The clubs interested in certain players will not be able to provide a wage packet to convince them to join. I wouldn't be surprised if we have to loan a few senior players out (whilst contributing heavily to their wages), just to get rid of the excess foreigners in the squad.
I said "get rid" not sell, so loans are included.

Personally I'm relaxed, and I'm happy that Pep is giving everyone a look for now, those that are surplus will be told, and if they want to play, will need their agents to find them a new gig.

Agree

I think Bony, Kolarov, Nasri and possibly Yaya are higher on Pep's list of players to sell. But Navas might come next. So he could leave. Which would leave us with 3 natural wide players. Sterling, Nolito and Sane (assuming we get him). With Nasri, KDB and Silva capable of playing there. However, in January when hopefully Jesus arrives.... :) We'd have 4 natural wide options again. So it shouldn't be a big loss.

I like Navas as a person and I like his efforts but he lacks that little bit of extra quality and his decision making infuriates me at times.

It wouldn't be the end of the world to see him go but you could say that about half the squad!

Main issue is just finding a team that will take them and getting them to leave. It's a two-way street. If Sevilla is actually interested and Navas would like the move, then I think we should let him go. We have a litany of attacking mids/wingers -- I think Zinchenko could slot into the role well as a rotation option and obviously Sane will be fighting for first choice depending on where he puts Silva/Sterling/KDB.

It all goes back into us originally signing these players and over-paying for their services. No one will pay Yaya close to 220K a week. No one will pay 25M for Bony. We've backed ourselves into a corner which is certainly frustrating as we've seemed to have this problem for years e.g. Adebayor.

Surely some not so intelligent Chinese clubs are the best options for yaya, bony, kolarov, zabaleta and possibly navas. I can't see delph being part of a pep team considering his limited technical ability, but maybe cause he's English we could sell him to a pl club for say £15m

Yet id say some of those still contributed more. Get out of the Dickov syndrome.
