Ndombele (signed for Spurs)

No. We play in the opposition half. He has the greatest passing range on Earth.
He can tackle, has pace and probably not as good as Ferny in the air, but not bad.
2 Silvas and him in midfield, worth having a look at, although Pep might think differently.
But what does he know about football? #Fraudiola
;-)

Okay... if Penelope can come and sit next to me.

I wouldn't have Kev down as a strong tackler

Deep lying midfielder
KDB is a world class attacking midfielder and Fernandinho is a world class defensive midfielder but if you think that switching players away from their world class roles and giving them a 'job' to do in a position that they are unaccustomed to and to expect that team performances will not decline with it, you will soon be calling Pep for lack of tactical awareness. In our position, we are able to find the type of player that we need and this is what we should be doing rather than entertaining the idea that our results and performances will not suffer by experimentation.

I think people get a bit carried away with the replacement for Fern. He is a supreme talent and has brought us so much joy but if you are expecting a like for like replacement, there doesn't seem to be anyone in world football with his range of attributes so you are going to be underwhelmed by anyone!
He is replaceable, but not by anyone with the exact same skill set. That does not mean that they cannot do as good a job.

An example is my personal belief that we play better as a team with Gabriel Jesus in the team than Sergio. Now Sergio looks almost irreplaceable; he is dynamite on the ball and has consistently topped goalscoring charts. He is a superbly talented player and we are lucky to have him. Jesus is a different player. Are we worse with him in the team? Not for me, we are not. He is not as dynamic and certainly doesn't yet have Sergio's reputation but our results with him in the starting line up are excellent because, in my opinion, he brings more from others than Sergio, who is more of an individual.

Correct. A lot of us thought that about Yaya. A lot of us still think that about Dave.

Watched him last night v St Etienne.

Was quiet tbf. Didn’t really get involved but was tidy in what he did.

Least impressive I’ve seen him.
That seems to happen when he plays against the crappy teams, he is not needed at the back Aouar is more than capable of coping and they do not need him up front with Depay Fakir or Cornet so he spends quite a lot of time redundant waiting for the opposition to have the ball

I watched the game as thought much the same as you. Though in the last 10 mins when they were pushing for the win he looked much better, more aggressive, powerful and full of running.
Hard to judge him playing there. Tough one for City scouts

Bring him in nobody else comes close to this guy in strength and power.

Very intelligent in his anticipation both defensively & in visualizing the opening of space going forward. He ticks the boxes you want in a pivot, plus he has a powerful shot. For me, definitely the ideal alternative to FDJ but will depend on what Txiki & Pep envision with a Fernandinho replacement - perhaps they will seek to go cheaper with a diamond in the rough and spend more on a different target/position

If FFP is the reason why we didn't sign De Jong, we have little hope for signing Ndombele. Aulas will be demanding just as much for him.

Will be really interesting to see what move we ultimately make.
