Just been reading the reserves match report from last night.

Why is Ned playing in the reserves? Is it a fitness thing? Or is that how Mancini rates him?

Seems to me that he'll be gone come the summer, which would be a shame imo. When fit and he gets a run of games, he's a class act.

Can't say I'd be too fussed if he went. People seem to forget he's been in the first team for 5 years now and he's never been special. Really nice bloke, a true blue and obviously tons better than 'Dunneh', but nowhere near the standard that we need, and I dont think he ever has been. Should he go, I really hope he does well, I bet he'd do a job in Holland or Germany however.

I would hate to see Ned go in the summer, but it looks very likely to me. Mancini seems to prefer Boyata over him and Ned needs to play more games than he is doing.

Could have developed into a top class defender, sadly his injury record means he's never been able to hold down a first team place long enough to develop.

I love Neddy he is awesome. Watching him on the OS yesterday talking bout his memories of Maine Road. The Lad is City through and through we cannot get rid of him cos the Italian doesn't favor him

Didnt he sign a new five year deal in the Summer ?

I love the guy but its Lescott and Kompany for me all day long at CBs and Micah RB so cant see a future for Ned here anymore, unless he's happy not starting that often.........if at all, given that Toure is probably ahead of him in Mancini's pecking order as well

Onouha can be our John O'Shea if he wanted to. He's never going to be our Ferdinand/Vidic.

Really, I never had him down as batting for the other side?!

(just joking before the pc brigade go mad)

Good comparison IP

I don't think he'll leave. He seems to love the club, so I can see him wanting to stay and fight for his place. Kompany and Lescott have been great, and it will be foolish to break them up, he should be 3rd choice behind them, over Toure.

He isn't good enough that's why.

I think he's a good defender. Whether he's good enough for where we ultimately want to be, is the thing. I would rather he stayed though, if he went to the right team, he could have the same impact as Dunne at Villa.

It's disappointing, Nedum was our most consistent and reliable centre half last season, and much like Ireland appeared as though he'd be a stalwart of the following season's side barring the introduction of a world class talent.

Neither Lescott, Toure or Barry are - which makes it all the more disappointing to see their rise abruptly halted.

If we're all perfectly honest though, Ireland needs to take a look at himself and not hide behind the tiresome excuses. He needs to shoulder some of the responsibility for his failings this season, and make sure he improves before the season's end or he'll become a forgotten man by the summer, which with our resources could be a disaster for him.

Nedum on the other hand has been unfortunate I feel. Injuries, lack of time on the pitch due to a certain manager trying to save face by playing inconsistent big signings injustifiably ahead of him, and the trying to impress a new manager under a vast amount of pressure haven't helped his cause. I think with a string of games

Kompany got injured in training this week and we're training like Kolo the Clown is gonna be Lescott's partner on Sunday, now anyone with half a brain can see that Ned is better than Kolo, so playing Ned in the reserves is a joke. Him, Lescott and Bellers were the only good players in that last Stoke game and now he's back in the reserves, stupid decision.
