Isn't it just.

Spot on, exactly how I feel, One more Striker (Zlatan Ibrahimovic please!) and we will have a world beating team, back to front, with various options.

what about guidetti does he figure in any of this?

Appreciate it, thanks.

If it were my call, I'd loan Guidetti out to a mid- to lower-tier PL side this season. Several need strikers. Let him get experience against the first-team defenses he will face in 2014-15. At the end of this season, Dzeko will have a year left on his deal, so he will have value if he wants to go or if we want to move him. Hopefully Guidetti has a great season and his stock rises, so if Dzeko wants/needs to go, we have a fine replacement. If Dzeko is excellent and JG poor, maybe we re-sign Edin. If they both star, all the better. If they both struggle, well . . . what can you do?

The other thing is, I think -- and I may be wrong -- the striker pool with either expiring or one-year-left contracts isn't likely to be nearly as deep as it is this year. So we are likely to get more value for one of them next season.

I have mixed feelings about Ibra. On one hand, I agree with those who'd think he'd thrive with City, and perhaps dominate. On the other hand, he's a walking circus. And having been through a few of those the last 18 months, I'd not blame Pelli, the Sheikh, Txiki or any fan for wanting to take a break from the potential of yet another one.

Negredo does not simply kick the ball into the goal, he makes the goal come to him.

Posters on here declaring that this is a "disappointing " signing because we had been "linked" to Cavani, Bale , Ronaldo etc etc .
Well , who made those links? The club? -no , the players themselves?- no , agents ? no - it was our old friends , the pissed old hacks in the tabloid press, so obviously we should take what they say as the truth , or maybe we should just dismiss it as space filling , made up bollox.
Linked with marquee signings - end up with disappointing squad player types - some of you out there seem determined to do the work of the gutter press for them.
Pellegrini made a statement along the lines of the pointlesness of having the best 12 guitarists in the world , when what you really need is a piano player , and some of you would do well to get off the computer games and get into the real world.
The manager of our great club has more knowledge and experience of how to build and progress and motivate a squad of footballers than any of us and if he signs player A instead of player B , then I will give him every support , until , or ,if he turns out to be wrong.
Best post i've read for a long, long time and thankfully it echoes the sentiments of many other posters. Nice one.

Totaly agree.

Pellegrini was 2 obvious offside goals away from the CL simifinals with Roaque Frigg'n Santa Cruz as their top striker and people are claiming we can't win in the CL with Aguero, Dzeko, Negredo and Jovetic?

What about now? Sure, we can still play the way we did with Silva and Aguero, but with more width and pace in Navas, now we can cross the ball in, with target guys to score. With Fernandinho holding, it seems to me Yaya can move forward and bull rush down the middle more often. In addition, Negredo gives us a better ability to lump it over the top of defense as well. And I have to believe our long set pieces (including corners) will improve with Negredo, and Rodwell too, assuming he’s fit and plays periodically.
Fernandinho won't be holding, he'll be box to box with Yaya controlling from deep.

Navas giving us more width is debatable, Pellegrini's sides have historically used the fullbacks for width, and he's tucked the wide players inside. Even then, Milner was used wide right plenty of times last season, he's capable of beating a man and holding his width, the only effect it had on the game was providing more of an overlap opportunity for the full backs.

I know they're both box-to-box, but I guessed that Yaya is such a good attacker, he'd be moving forward more. Obviously Fernandinho is no DeJong.

That's an interesting point re: Navas (BTW, I think part of the reason we were so narrow last year was no Micah Richards). So Navas plays more of an inside right with Micah/Zab as the right wing? That's like the old school 5-in-front system I learned as a kid when I was 7. I guess this is a good example of the fluidity people keep talking about with Pelle.
