Had some friends travelling Ryanair, Manchester to Faro last week. When they tried to check in 4 day's prior, they discovered that the flight had been cancelled due to industrial action with Ryanair staff (no notification from Ryanair).I've going through the online complaints procedure on that link, so we'll see. Thanks for the info anyway.
Upshot was, they had to fly to Dublin, collect bags, 7 hour delay, fly to Faro.
They couldn't re-check bags back in as check in wasn't open, and it was £50 to store them.
As it panned out, my mate got bus into Dublin and had a few cold stouts, whilst Mrs and kids stayed with the luggage.
Since read that O'Leary is rejecting all claims as strike was out of their control.
Not surprising, as I assume this affected thousands of travellers.
I think CAA are possibly going to say strike is within Ryanair's control, as their staff.
I'll tell my mate to fill in that claim form, though he might be wasting his time.
