Hi everyone,

Alex Channon emailed me these pictures yesterday of the presentation of the cheque to the Cecilia Unit at wythenshawe hospital. Alex didnt know at the time but the actual FA.Cup, complete with city ribbons was there aswell! In the pictures, you will also see the Neil Young painting I have done which has been bought for £1000 by a very generous person. I've since been told that a picture of the presentation will be in the MEN and possibly the first city programme of our most anticipated season ever. I'm very happy my painting was able to become part of the appeal and thank you Alex for absolutely tremendous work on behalf of all Manchester City fans!

Great news and such a great cause to go to, that shows some people are still very generous despite the recession

Ta for your comments everyone. A big thank you to Crizack for the portrait which has loads of autographs on the back.

I can't tell just how grateful the hospital is for your generous donations. Carmen Young (aka Rita Fairclough) is more than moved by your generousity, kind words and remembrance of Nelly. She also loves the portrait. So many good Blues on this site, diamonds everyone of you.

-- Mon Jun 13, 2011 6:56 pm --

No, it's Jan Owen who co-ordinates charity stuff at the hospital.

3rd photo brought a lump to the throat.

God bless you Nelly. All the best to you Carmen.

I'm extremely pleased to announce that the cheque for £18,000 is about to be significantly increased. The Reddish branch held a Tribute/Fund raising night for the Appeal a few weeks ago. The result is a further £1,250 will be added to the charity arm of the Cecelia Unit, Wythenshawe Hospital. A superb effort by all at Reddish.

Added to that there is an offer of £1,000 for the portrait of Nelly drawn by Crizack from a member of the Bredbury Branch.

So all in all the money raised by City fans for the Cecelia Unit is actually approximately £20,000. Nelly's family should eventually get about £13,500 altogether. A magnificent by all concerned. Thank you.
