What on earth are you talking about? You appear to think that because they're white they are not South African. The Boer people are descended from Dutch, Flemish, German folk, other white people from English, Scots, Irish, blah blah, fucking blah. Some brown South Africans have Asian heritage, they can't be African either?
In short, the white people in his country are just as entitled as him to Statehood, they are no more 'immigrants' than he is.

He didn't. The white immigrants were probably there before his people, Hottentots and bushmen are indigenous, other black tribes came down from the North.

At least someone knows a bit about Africa history the Hottentots who originally settled the land we basically slaughtered by tribes moving down from the North it was a case of when white settlers turned up they just out slaughtered another group of slaughterers.

Bit simplified the history of Southern Africa's pretty interesting I worked over there in the 80's it was different, well paid though and I read a fair bit while there the Zulu tribes were particularly ruthless in their disposal of enemies of course when white European settlement began the balance of power in the region changed somewhat.

Stop digging we all know the white people in South Africa are of European descent but 200 years of living in Africa and being born there makes them as African as anyone born there.

I dont know much about the history of SA to be honest, its not something thats ever really caught my attention. But im suprised at some of the vitriol shown towards Mandela. He is an iconic figure in the world yet some on here are making him out like some of Mugabe clone.

There's not that much vitriol to be honest just a few pointing out when he stands in front of his maker he may well have to explain the blood on his hands Gandhi he certainly isn't.

Me too Rasc. Went to the prison he was held in on Robben Island. The cell he was held in was depressingly small.

Whilst his acts before he went into prison cannot be ignored, I believe he deserves great credit for the way he conducted himself when he was released.

As much as the whites in SA like to moan, economic power still rests with them, so talk of them being routinely plundered are somewhat in conflict with reality. Most of the good restaurants are hallmarked by white customers and black staff. Get pissed with a white South African and the bile will come out eventually.

When Mandela passes, I will be saddened. He was certainly a far better man than any of the people that preceded him in running that country. The whites should remember that when complaining about the way they perceive events have unfolded. Ain't karma a woman?
