Have to say today made me think back to his brain fart against them in the Chumps final though.“No plan B”
It wasn’t a brain fart. He identified ways in which to beat Chelsea and the players didn’t execute it how he wanted them to. These things happen.Have to say today made me think back to his brain fart against them in the Chumps final though.
Come on mate, Pep shit out of playing his normal game. He overthought it. It was outrageous that he didn’t pick Rodders yet picked Sterling. Then we didn’t even press them.It wasn’t a brain fart. He identified ways in which to beat Chelsea and the players didn’t execute it how he wanted them to. These things happen.
The main thing that made us lose the game was that Chelsea found a way to constantly pull Dias and Stones out of position and they kept falling for it. That wasn’t on anything Pep did tactically or formationally.
You’ve got to accept the rough with the smooth with Pep.Have to say today made me think back to his brain fart against them in the Chumps final though.
Que? You answered the ‘brain fart’ excellentlyIt wasn’t a brain fart. He identified ways in which to beat Chelsea and the players didn’t execute it how he wanted them to. These things happen.
The main thing that made us lose the game was that Chelsea found a way to constantly pull Dias and Stones out of position, leaving a hole in our defence that could be exploited, and they kept falling for it. That wasn’t on anything Pep did tactically or formationally.

Stones and Dias being pulled out of position was because he set up with no shield, he takes accountability for that, especially as he’s not done it in the previous 10 CL games - he experimented at the wrong time as that shield was there for all to see today
He’s an incredible manager, one of the greatest of all time but he was culpable for that result, which he clearly will learn from!
You just feel comfortable when he puts a lineup out like today, no suprises. Just makes it fustrating when he plays out of form players or some other system.
Again, don’t be so matter of fact the way you respond ffs, told you countless times about this…Its not an experiment to play Gubdogan at 6, hes done it dozens of times. Weve won a title thanks to that lineup.
Peps reasoning for that match and lineup was solid, and he explained it in full before the match. It didn't work out, shit happens, you lose to a good side, just like we did with Fernandinho and Rodri playing 6.
Its beyond boring that a world class manager is still castigated for picking anything other than the exact lineup the fans have decided was acceptable despite going on 6 seasons of fans seeing him succeed most of the time when he makes a change.
Nobody is perfect but Pep is better than all the rest. Just a football genius. He has some weird and strange brain farts but he also produces teams and performances that are quite simply beautiful and make you proud to be part of this club.
