New breed of away fan

If we don’t get to the final I’ll just treat it as a holiday :-)

Few of us are thinking of this but not in Madrid, staying somewhere else and getting a train on the day, imagine being in Madrid and the fucking Dippers are in the final again.....

I believe Malaga is only a few hours away on the train, if anyone knows any different or anywhere better to book i'm open to suggestions.

Thats what I'm doing too. I have a flight booked to Granada and its 3.5 hours drive from there. I think its a 4 hour train from Malaga. I have a room that I can cancel for free in Madrid, but I've also got one for Istanbul in May 2020 as I like to be prepared. If we get knocked out I'll get to see a bit of Andalucia instead.

I think the cost of getting to Madrid will ultimately make it prohibitive for a lot of supporters, which is why I'm not confident we will easily sell out 15k. That's a lot of supporters. I think it would go to very low points or to general sale, but I will be very happy to be proven wrong.

If we get to the CL Final and Thomas Cook put on 10 places, say 200 on each will that mean that 2000 people
who have never been to a City game can get a ticket.
Food for thought.

I dont think they could justify creaming 2000 tickets off a 15k allocation to the highest bidders! There would be uproar and i would be part of it. I have a SC, CL Membership and points (prob not enough) but would like to know im in a queue and 2000 arent going to jump ahead of me! They would prob charter planes and buses but Madrid is completely accessible in a whole range of ways so might not be worth their while for a 90 min flight.

I booked my Wembley hotel when we drew Burton but I’m afraid I can’t carry that arrogance over to the big one yet.

booking.com usually let you cancel a day or 2 before. Just had a look for the Friday to Sunday and the prices would make you boke.... The airport is 900!! Airbnb the best bet

Just had a quick look at hotels, they are eye watering. Stopping somehwere else and training it would be an option, the problem being getting a return after the game.
If it happens some very creative thinking maybe required.

Yep. And still lots of hard cash I suspect!

I’m sure there will be loads of planes chartered coming in and out on the same day.

went to see them recently, before Xmas....was brilliant...although 50/60 yo punks with mohicans isnt a "great look"
A lot of the old(original ) punk bands appear to be back on tour..a load are lined up later this year at Sheffields Corporation club.got a mate who can get me in most Sheffield venues for nowt,so will look out for Subhumans( i am by the way a true Subhuman after passing out completely for the whole of the 2nd half away in Poland under Keegan-cheap vodka and all day drinking did not combine well that day!!)

If you fancied a few days in Benidorm (not really my thing tbh), you could get the train from Alicante to Madrid in less than three hours

If we make Madrid why book digs.

You can stay up all night after the final. Plenty of places will be open till early hours. They like our money.

Possibly if a Spanish or German team made it, but I doubt the Spanish police would allow places to be open all night for Brits to get pissed.

Absolute cünthole of a country, expecting a lot of trouble from Franco's boys if we do make it there. I'd go if we did, but it'll take a lot of luck, as our ability goes out of the window when taking on UEFA and the European giant clubs.

Since when did you need a visa for Spain ?

It is coming in at some point, a €7 visa fee for Brits entering the EU. Doubt it'll be in place by this summer though. I think making sure at least 6 months on your British passport will be needed though when going to the EU, will stop them being funny about it.
