Eupen doctor, Eduardo Mauri joined Manchester City

It is not only among players that the summer transfer window suppose coming and going ...
Indeed, Eupen is in the medical staff that one announces departure.

Thus, it was learned Sunday that Dr. Eduardo Mauri (photo), chief of the medical staff in charge of the German team, came to say goodbye to Eupen on the occasion of the match against Anderlecht.

"I'm a new challenge in England," he told us.

The Spanish doctor joined at Monday Pep Guardiola (he rubbed the side of Barcelona) to Manchester City! A big challenge for the Spaniard.

Love that Google translation stuff....!

If we can keep our players fit what a difference it would make. Injuries have been a bind for about 4/5 years now particularly the last few.

if he can keep gundogan, kompany, aguero, de bruyne and silva fit then some teams are gonna get a smashing this season!

This could be the most influential signing of the season.
If he can keep Komps and Sergio on the pitch, then he'll be our best signing ever. Though I would have still preferred to have signed Eva ;-)

It's been said a few times on here but the injury situation was great in 2011/12 when Phil Batty was the doctor. But Mancini fell out with him (surprise, surprise) seemingly because he was prepared to stand up to Mancini in ensuring players started only when they were right. Managers always want players to play even if they're not quite ready but Batty appears to have taken the players' side.

So we got rid and Mancini got the current incumbent, Dr Max Sala, who I believe was reserve team doctor at Inter. Since then our injury review has been significantly worse it would seem and I'm somewhat surprised he's lasted this long.

Clearly the problem of injuries and fitness has been identified as not being sufficient as was to meet Pep's requirements, and steps have been take to try and remedy this. Good to see stuff moving along in a positive way. Whilst you can't account for all injuries, or numptys like Bardsley making challenges like that one on the opening day, correct preparation and diet is clearly shown to help recovery times for small and big injuries. The exposure these players have to fatigue and injuries is considerable with the limits they will be pushed to on a daily basis, so changing your body's ability to be able to better cope with that better is both very sensible and very rewarding.

Whilst I can't comment on previous regimes, it is clear that all our players will be expected to really live a professional life here under Pep, keep fit, understand nutrition, take care of themselves, as a basic requirement before a ball is kicked - but the potential rewards are incredible not just in terms of silverware and personal achievement, but also bringing something new to the biggest league in the world and even being a great life lesson on how to be healthy and to carry that on past your professional career.
