New Console Game

Bit of an unfair comparison, that. My heart rate went up when I watch the actaul sequences on TV, cos I felt 'involved'. It looks like a game where timing is 100% crucial as you're constantly running or fighting!

If you happen to catch a re-run of 'Playr' on Bravo this week, you'll see it's different from "Assassin's Creed". Whilst 'AC' never appealed to me, "Mirror's Edge" does.

Watched another video on YouTube and a developer was talking over the video saying its possible to complete the game without firing a single shot - theres a special achievement for doing so.

Was AC first or third person?

Bit of both, I think.

I swear, GStar, try and catch the programme, this week and you'll see why I posted. I've never seen a half hour dedication from 'Playr', like that. I mean, not an extra. Actually, whilst thinking about it, only once with 'Metal Gear...'.

So, to me, it seems they rate it very highly.

I'll see what i can do - not having Sky means it might be a bit of a struggle.

Looks like a game you can truely immerse yourself into the "world" they've created. Something a bit different from anything else out there.

Worth a look at the very least i reckon. Cheers for posting, i'd not heard about it til today!

I wasn't suggesting it was the same as AC, but the roof running looks remarkably similar. AC was pretty repetitive although good fun with a great animation engine and top notch graphics.

Just out of interest, the story is set in a 'dystopian'(such a buzz words, these days in plot!) city and has a theme on the government controlling information via the internet!

As there has been a notion of this in the air quite recently, it's rather topical!

Just played the demo and it is quiet fun !

altho it is rumoured their is only 10 hours gameplay :(

Just played the demo on the 360...It looks good, but also looks like it could bore you very quickly like Assasins Creed.

boring pretty looking platform game, play fallout3 its amazing

If you actually want the same kind of mind numbing 'shoot 'em ups', fine. But, I think you'll see that the genre for violence solving gameplay will shift to 'choice' play, as in how to deal with impending situations. This is only the start of what may well be a small niche in the end, but I'd, at least, like the option of how to approach a game other than blowing someone's head off.

A much needed direction, in my opinion.

I read about this at the weekend, it looks fun but apparently not everything can be climbed i.e. scaffolding etc.. which is a shame. They'd only played a preview version of the game but they really hoped it had more to it as the initial stuff on show was good...but it was borderline repetitive. I like the idea of it feeling like you've cheated a bit when you just shoot someone instead of kung-fu kicking their face off.

I'm gna pick GOW2 when it comes out i think, FIFA will keep me more than occupied until then, although Fallout3 might have to be purchased, it sounds quality.

Well, it may just be repetative, but the mode for expansive gameplay is definately there as this is a first attempt at this type of game. All games improve with more work.

I'm happy enough to still have it in my collection, when it comes out.
