New Dr Who

Just re-watched it earlier on BBC3 whilst scrolling the social medias - so many people posting trans hate against Yasmin Finney for basically accepting a job. Oddly none of them had any views on Heartstopper which kinda makes me feel its whipped up hate by people who just want to be angry. At anything.

When you look at their bio so many are middle aged blokes and I can't help but wonder whether the hate they feel within is because in reality they quite fancy a black girl who has a penis. Hope none of them go to Bangkok on holiday for I fear they may get such a shock.

Wait till...

The Doctor Kisses a Man.

Started watching the original Sea Devils episodes on iplayer. We lived, at the time, a couple of miles from where it was filmed. I remember bricking it when they first came ashore. Behind the sofa time.

who the fuck were all those people who had a living room where big enough to have a sofa in the middle of the living room to hide behind? I was brought up in a council house terrace - if you had put the sofa in the middle you would have to go out through the front door and up the ginnel and come in the back door to get to the kitchen coz unless the sofa was up against the wall you cut the house in half

We'd just moved from a two up/ two down, bath in front of the fire on a Sunday, toilet at the bottom of the garden to a new build just outside Portsmouth. It had a downstairs loo, which my old man gave a big 'tadaaaa' to when we first saw it, a bathroom and a lounge diner with doors between. They were never shut so you could dive behind.

you posh bastard - the only place I have had a downstairs bathroom was when we lived in a ground floor flat that we rented for a short while in the early 90's lol

Jesus,
It was like watching an inclusivity video at work but with aliens. Why does everything have to have a message now?
Oh and I see it's still ok to bash men though, with the comment by rose at the end.

inclusivity is actual living mate. Do you know how many gay people, trans people or disabled people you will interact with ever week and never even know? I mean that quiet lad who serves you in the fuel station may be quiet coz he has a chronic stammer and is too embarrassed to speak. That bus driver you just paid could be gay and chooses to remain closeted. That market trader could be a stroke survivor. People don't have to wear a badge to explain their position to others but they may just want to live work and exist in a society that knows people in their position can and will be treated with respect.

Its easier with people who are not the same colour as you or who use a mobility aid for example but maybe not easy to see say a hearing aid user. What some people have yet to realise is that in a world of @7bn as a white English speaking person they are actually in a minority and being white and speaking English does not bring with it any automatic privileges.

Used to love Doctor Who as a kid so that was mainly Pertwee and Baker.
When it relaunched with Ecclestone I loved it as an adult. Tennant and Smith kept the fire alight.
Went downhill with Capaldi - useless scripts and what seemed like huge budget cuts so not watched it since.
And as for Amy Pond :-)

All well and good but you don't know my sexuality as I don't go around telling everyone. Nor do I feel the need to. So why do other people feel the need to proclaim theirs?
Sure, highlighting issues that people face is a worthy cause but it's all very well shoehorning in as much diversity as you can but why stick in the snide comment about men at the end? Inclusivity should be just that. Inclusive for all. Not the few that RTD champions and then be all snidey about the rest.

Because to them its important they and others know about it and for those who may be too scared to proclaim theirs but see there are others like them it can be affirming. If you can't see it you can't be it.

Also - you'd be surprised at how most of us tell the world all sorts about ourselves about the way we look, the way we act, the way we speak and the way we move we just don't realise it.

Hateful people watch an episode of Doctor Who and suddenly change perspective? The producers are making a sci fi show for families.

The Doctor has always been a realistic character. They’re an anti-hero. Flawed.

The doctor is a multi ethnic gender bender.

What about transgender people is not appropriate for families?

I haven't watched Dr who for several years but was impressed by both the special effects (much better quality than the usual Dr Who, and up there with movies and high production streaming) and the acting all round, Yasmine Finney is a talented young actress and has a bright future. Ruth Madeley was a great addition too, she was brilliant in Years and Years and an episode of the Cleaner.

Ruth Madely is here to stay and by looking at the New TARDIS interior I think she gets a go in there. She was a good foil for Tennant. Could see her character being the work wife type.

Absolutely - did you not see the new Tardis is full of ramps and thus wheelchair accessible? But of course the haters will be angry with that too.
