In Ederson and Ortega we have probably the best two keeper combination in the league, possibly Europe. What we need to remember is our poor form has been a collective drop off, with world class players across the squad making horrendous mistakes in key moments as well as generally lacking confidence. This has applied to the keepers too, that doesn't make them any worse keepers IMHO. They are both multi title winning players who not long ago won everything in domestic and European football. Should they wish to remain with the club, both deserve our trust and ongoing support.

Over the last 6-12 months we were linked with Vanja Milinković-Savić of Torino(ex rag but possibly the best keeper in Italy this year), Michael Zetterer of Bremen, Michele Di Gregorio of Juve and Diogo Costa of Porto.

I would consider bringing back Trafford to deputize Ortega (in case Eddie leaves) for a year before taking over.
