Might as well start a thread, somebody is going to do it anyway. :-)

Did I hear right on Saturday evening? The Rags were singing a new chant at Reading to the tune of..."This is how it feels to be City.......

Putting that aside, there's no harm in coming up with a couple of new chants before Sunday. Obviously they need to get going on Sunday.(TBA, Lads in 111/110/109/SS, etc.

An obvious chant, but one that hasn't been aired yet.

To the 2600 Rags stood in the away end.

"Where were you when Augero scored?!"(OUCH!)

Shortly followed by.

"We were here, We were here, We were here when Augero scored, we were here when Augero scored !!"

Have any of these lets sing this song or this chant ever had any effect?I've seen plenty of suggestions but not heard proof at a game that anyone really took any notice of these new songs.

People will sing what they want, when they want to and no amount of suggestions on here will change that. Save your breath for Sunday and belt your song out - if anyone else thinks its good they'll join in - if not you'll be singing all on your own ;-)

Songs suggested on here never take off, and quite frankly, football chants these days are all unimaginitive & naff!!! Gone are the days when a chant could have more than one verse!!! I blame the x-box & the playstation; these youngsters don't have the creativity or indeed attention spans to think for themselves!

Seemingly, every football chant these days has to fit the following criteria, which I believe was posted on here a few days ago:

Sing the first line
Repeat the first line
Who or what the song's about
Repeat the first line!!!

The only exception to this is our "You lucky bastards" song, which does indeed have more than one verse, but is still the above formula!

Nout wrong with singing on your own.... I tell me self that when i think i've come up with a corker of a song and everyone else thinks otherwise!
